Over a decade ago, we (Microsoft and CommVault) sat down to map out a strategy to use Windows Server® operating systems as the foundation on which to build simple products that manage heterogeneous data for our customers. At that time, we discussed the power of the upcoming family of Windows Server editions and how CommVault could build on ever-improving Microsoft solutions, such as Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft® Office SharePoint® Server, the Microsoft® Office system, Microsoft® SQL Server®, Microsoft® Office Communications Server (OCS), the Microsoft® Active Directory® service, Microsoft® Hyper-V™ Server, and the Windows® File System itself.
